Working in the abstract.
Life has had some very difficult times recently. Unfortunately I've had to put off painting to help family members that have needed me. So going back into the studio I decided that it was time to throw around some paint and try painting abstract for a change. The painting emerged on it's own, there wasn't any pre-planning like there is with my realism work.
Just feeling the movement of the paint as the colors blended into each other was extremely soothing.
I think this style of painting would be a great form of art therapy.
In the future, when I am finally back on track, I would love to offer an abstract painting class to those that have suffered loss or trauma.
